New Edo Line: Governor Sacks Aigbodion, Appoints Ogedegbe As New Managing Director
The Edo State Governor has terminated the appointment of Mr Smart Aigbodion as Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the state-owned company over alleged managerial inefficiency.
The Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Umar Musa Ikhilor, announced the decision in a statement, saying the termination took immediate effect on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Ikhilor also announced the appointment of Engr. Paul F. Ogedegbe as the new Managing Director of the company.
Aigbodion, who previously served as the General Manager, Maintenance, assumed the acting leadership position in January 2026 following the removal of his predecessor, Otuomagie.
Otuomagie was relieved of her position on January 15, 2026, and redeployed to the Ministry of Information.
Aigbodion had remained in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive managing director before the governor terminated his appointment.
