Super Falcons Camp Swells To 18 Ahead Of Comoros Olympic Qualifier
The Super Falcons have stepped up preparations for their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying campaign, with 18 players now in camp ahead of the crucial second-round tie against Comoros.

The Nigeria women’s national team are currently training in Ijebu-Ode, with Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne and Janet Akekoromowei the latest arrivals.

Fourteen players participated in Monday’s training session at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne as the Falcons intensified their preparations for the two-legged encounter.

Several key players are still expected to join the squad, including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie and Comfort Erhabor, defender Michelle Alozie, as well as forwards Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu and Joy Omewa.

However, the Falcons will be without Asisat Oshoala, Oluwatosin Demehin, Ashleigh Plumptre and Flourish Sabastine, who have withdrawn from the qualifiers for different reasons.
The first leg is scheduled for Friday, October 9, with Comoros officially designated as the hosts.

Nigeria will stage the return leg on Tuesday, October 13. Both matches, however, will be played at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne-Remo because Comoros do not have a CAF-approved venue for international fixtures.

The Falcons will be keen to secure a strong advantage across the two legs as they continue their quest to qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games.
