Super Eagles Slide To 30th In Latest FIFA Rankings
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have dropped four places to 30th in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Wednesday.

The three-time African champions, who occupied 26th position in the previous ranking, also suffered a decline on the continental table, falling from fourth to sixth in Africa.

Nigeria now trail Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, Algeria and Côte d’Ivoire in the African rankings.

The drop follows a mixed run of results in the Super Eagles’ three most recent international fixtures.

Eric Chelle’s side began the latest international window with a 2-1 victory over Madagascar in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture before suffering a heavy 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles then ended their campaign on a brighter note, playing out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Russia in Tuesday’s international friendly.

Despite the recent setback in the rankings, Nigeria remain among Africa’s leading football nations and will be hoping for a strong finish in their upcoming fixtures to climb back up the FIFA ladder.

At the top of the global rankings, world champions Spain retained first position, with Argentina, France, England and Portugal completing the top five.
Brazil, Morocco, the Netherlands, Belgium and Mexico make up the remainder of the top 10.

The next FIFA men’s world ranking is scheduled for release on November 18, 2026.
