Super Eagles Begin AFCON 2027 Qualifiers Against Madagascar September 23
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will kick off their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Madagascar on Wednesday, September 23.
The Matchday One clash is scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, where Eric Chelle’s side will be targeting maximum points.
The three-time African champions will then travel to Morocco for their second Group D fixture against Guinea-Bissau on Sunday, September 27.
Tanzania completes the four-team qualifying group.
Nigeria will enter the qualifiers as favourites to finish top of the group, having established themselves as one of Africa’s leading football nations.
The Super Eagles finished third at the last AFCON hosted by Morocco and will be keen to make a strong start to their latest qualifying campaign.
Chelle’s men were last in action in June when they faced Portugal in an international friendly.
The Nigerian side will now turn their attention to Madagascar, with victory in Uyo expected to provide the perfect launchpad for their bid to qualify for AFCON 2027.
