Sunny Ekpeson Sworn In As Etsako East Council Chairman, Begins New Chapter of Grassroots Leadership
Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson has been officially sworn in as the Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, alongside other newly elected local government chairmen across Edo State.

The swearing-in ceremony, held today, marks the formal commencement of Ekpeson’s elected tenure after his decisive victory in the July 11, 2026 local government election, where he secured 94,166 votes across the council’s 10 wards.

Ekpeson, who also serves as Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), returns to the council with considerable experience from his period in acting capacity, during which his administration initiated and executed numerous projects across Etsako East.

His new mandate places renewed focus on translating his grassroots experience into broader development across the three zones of Weppa-Wanno, Okpella and Ibie.

With his inauguration now complete, attention shifts to the task ahead: consolidating ongoing initiatives, opening new frontiers of development and ensuring that the people of Etsako East feel the impact of local government administration.

A new chapter has begun in Etsako East — and Sunny Ekpeson is officially at the helm.
