It brings Governance closer to the Grassroots. Their responsibility would include serving as “Eyes and Ears” of the Governor, You can even say the Governor would be ‘everywhere at the same time’ in Edo state.
They would,
Provide Feedback to the Governor, bridge the communication gap between the Governor and their constituents, Monitor Projects and explain Government policies better to their folks and facilitate a robust engagement between Government and their communities and act as agents of mobilization, overall it makes the Administration more inclusive.
I don’t see How it is a Waste since from the Governor’s perspective, it wouldn’t hinder Him from executing other projects that will also make palpable impact.
It is commendable.
Although their Pay has not been disclosed, hopefully it would be a tool for empowerment like the targeted welfare cash transfers used in other countries.
