Golden Eaglets Await WAFU B U-17 Draw Thursday
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will discover their group-stage opponents for the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Championship on Thursday as the official draw holds in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Stade du 04 Août, with the draw for the second edition of the WAFU B U-17 Girls’ Cup also set for the same venue.
Nigeria will feature in the girls’ competition alongside hosts Burkina Faso, Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire and Niger Republic.
Meanwhile, the Golden Eaglets are stepping up preparations for the regional championship in Abuja under head coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere.
The youngsters tested their readiness with friendly matches against Simonben Academy of Kaduna and Galadima FC last weekend as part of their build-up to the tournament.
The WAFU B U-17 Championship will serve as a qualifying pathway for the 2027 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
Burkina Faso will host the tournament from October 4 to 17, 2026, with the Eaglets aiming to secure a strong start on their road to continental qualification.
