Father Of Singer Rolex Dee Dies After Son Allegedly Falls Ill In Police Custody
The father of Nigerian singer Afunso Ridwan Abiola, popularly known as Rolex Dee, has reportedly died after collapsing upon hearing reports that his son was critically ill while in police custody.

The development was disclosed by the singer’s mother in a video circulating on social media, where she said her husband collapsed after learning that Rolex Dee was allegedly vomiting blood while detained by the police.

According to the grieving mother, the deceased had recently joined her in appealing to fellow musician Taye Currency for assistance in securing their son’s release.

Rolex Dee’s detention reportedly followed a public dispute and subsequent fallout between the singer and Taye Currency.

In the emotional video, recorded during the father’s funeral, the singer’s mother appealed to the police, public figures and other well-meaning Nigerians to intervene and secure her son’s release so that he could receive medical attention.

She lamented that Rolex Dee was unable to attend his father’s burial because he remained in detention.
The family’s account has raised concerns over the singer’s reported health condition and the circumstances surrounding his continued detention.

The family is now appealing for urgent intervention to ensure that Rolex Dee receives the medical care he allegedly needs while efforts are made to resolve the circumstances surrounding his detention.

The death of his father has added another painful dimension to the ordeal, as the singer remains unable to bid farewell to his deceased parent.
