Nigeria’s Falconets have been handed a stern test in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after being drawn against England.
The clash is scheduled for Thursday, September 17, in Bielsko-Biala, with both teams seeking a place in the quarter-finals.
The Falconets booked their knockout-stage ticket in emphatic fashion, thrashing New Caledonia 10-1 in their final Group F fixture on Sunday.
Despite the huge victory, Moses Aduku’s side finished second in the group behind Spain, who claimed top spot with nine points. Nigeria ended the group phase with four points from three matches.
England also finished second in their group, collecting four points behind Brazil. The Young Lionesses edged out Canada for the second qualifying position on the basis of their superior team conduct record.
