Ex-Super Eagles Star Emenike Slams Nigeria, Decries Corruption
Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has criticised Nigeria over alleged corruption and embezzlement, lamenting the state of affairs in the country.

In a social media post, Emenike expressed disappointment with Nigeria, describing it as a place where embezzlement had become a major concern.

“Nigeria is finished and gone. We thought it was a country when we played, not knowing that it is an embezzlement ground. Embezzlement group of companies,” he wrote.

The former international did not mention any governor or political figure in the post.

Emenike represented Nigeria between 2011 and 2015, making 37 appearances and scoring nine goals for the Super Eagles before retiring from international football in October 2015.

He was a key member of Nigeria’s squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, the country’s third continental title.

Emenike finished as joint top scorer of the tournament with four goals and earned a place in the team of the tournament as Nigeria defeated Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final.
