"Enough is Enough" Judy Austin Sues Rita Edochie For N1 Billion Over Alleged Defamation, Demands Public Apology
Nollywood actress Judy Austin Yul-Edochie has filed a lawsuit against her aunt-in-law and senior colleague, Rita Edochie, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Judicial Division.
According to a Writ of Summons dated 1st July 2026, with Suit No: CV/2990/26, Judy Austin is listed as the Claimant while Rita Edochie is the Defendant.
In the court documents shared on her Instagram page with the caption "Enough is enough!!!", Judy is seeking N1,000,000,000.00 as general damages for alleged defamation.
Her other demands include:
1. An order compelling Rita Edochie to publish a full, unreserved retraction and apology in at least two widely circulated national newspapers and on all her social media platforms.
2. A perpetual injunction restraining Rita Edochie, her agents and privies from further publishing or circulating defamatory statements against Judy Austin.
3. An order directing the Defendant to take down all alleged defamatory statements made against the Claimant on all online platforms.
4. N50,000,000.00 as cost of prosecuting the suit.
5. 10% post judgment interest from the date of judgment to the date of final liquidation.
The suit was filed through her legal representatives at Rubicom Legal Partners, Abuja.
