Edo Mourns As Chief Daniel Osi Orbih Dies, Family Announces
Edo State has been thrown into mourning following the reported death of Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, a respected member of the Orbih family, who passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The family of Chief M.C.K. Orbih announced the death in a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq., on behalf of the Orbih family.

The statement described the deceased as a beloved brother, husband, father and uncle, saying the family received the loss with profound sadness and a heavy heart, while remaining in total submission to the will of Almighty God.

Chief Daniel Osi Orbih is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Orbih; his children, Ms. Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr. Mildred Omonemi Orbih; alongside his brothers, sisters and other members of the extended family.

The family appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember them in their prayers as they come to terms with the painful loss.

“Further details will be announced in due course,” the family stated.

The announcement has cast a sombre mood over the family and those who knew the deceased, with condolences expected to pour in as loved ones mourn his passing and celebrate the memories he leaves behind.
