Delta Governor Challenges Army Plan, Demands 83 Division Headquarters For Delta.
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian Army to reconsider the planned location of the headquarters of the newly approved 83 Division.

Speaking when an Army delegation visited the Delta State Government House in Asaba, Oborevwori argued that Delta State is strategically positioned between Edo and Bayelsa and hosts critical oil, gas and other national assets that require strong security protection.

The governor maintained that locating the 83 Division headquarters in Delta would enhance security coordination across the three states and strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure in the Niger Delta.

The 83 Division is expected to have operational responsibility covering Delta, Edo and Bayelsa, making its headquarters a significant strategic decision.

Should the 83 Division headquarters be moved to Delta State? Or should the Army retain Benin City as originally planned?
