2027 AFCONQ: Super Eagles Begin Madagascar Preparations In Ikot Ekpene Today
The Super Eagles will begin preparations for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with their first training session in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, on Tuesday.
Nigeria will face Madagascar in their opening Group D qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, September 25.
Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe confirmed that the session will be partly open to the media, with journalists allowed to cover the first 15 minutes.
Efoghe also revealed that the entire squad will face the media on Wednesday for exclusive interviews at the team’s base in Ikot Ekpene.
The three-time African champions will be looking to make a strong start to their qualifying campaign against the Barea, having won their last three meetings with Madagascar.
Madagascar have already arrived in Uyo ahead of the encounter. The delegation, comprising 28 players and officials, landed at Victor Attah International Airport at about 2:05 p.m. on Sunday before heading to their hotel.
More members of the Madagascar delegation are expected to arrive in Uyo on Tuesday.
Following Friday’s clash, the Super Eagles will travel to Morocco to face Guinea-Bissau in their second qualifying fixture on Tuesday, September 29.
