19 Super Eagles Players Arrive Camp Ahead Of Russia Friendly
Nineteen players are now in the Super Eagles’ camp in Nizhny Novgorod as Nigeria intensify preparations for Tuesday’s international friendly against Russia.

The latest arrival is FC Rostov forward Ibraheem Ajasa, who joined the squad on Monday after receiving a late invitation from head coach Éric Chelle.

Nigeria’s preparations have, however, been disrupted by injuries and the inability of several clubs to release their players for the fixture.

Captain Wilfred Ndidi and Basel defender Victor Akpe are ruled out with injuries, while Bright Osayi-Samuel, Raphael Onyedika and Ridwan Abdulrasaq Popoola were not granted permission by their respective clubs to travel to Russia.

Moses Usor, who scored on his Super Eagles debut against Madagascar in Uyo on September 25, was also unavailable after his Austrian club, LASK, refused to release him despite a late request from Chelle.

Slavia Prague midfielder Suleiman Mubarak also missed out after failing to secure the residence permit required to travel to Russia.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to hold their final training session on Monday night as they put the finishing touches to their preparations for the friendly.
